Non-essential tools

Google Ad Manager

Our website uses Google Ad Manager, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google Ad Manager”). This service is used to display Google ads on our website by setting cookies to the browser when a user visits a page that shows Google Marketing Platform advertising products and Google Ad Manager ads. Pages with Google Marketing Platform advertising products or Google Ad Manager ads include ad tags that instruct browsers to request ad content from our servers. When the server delivers the ad content, it also sends a cookie. But a page doesn’t have to show Google Marketing Platform advertising products or Google Ad Manager ads for this to happen; it just needs to include Google Marketing Platform advertising products or Google Ad Manager ad tags, which might load a click tracker or impression pixel instead. This way, cookies are used to improve advertising (e.g. target advertising based on what is relevant to the user, to improve reporting on campaign performance, to avoid showing ads the user has already seen), as well as to serve, render and personalise ads. Cookies themselves contain no personally identifiable information. Depending on the publisher’s and user’s settings, information associated with cookies used in advertising may be added to the user’s Google Account.

Google Ads

We use the services of Google Ads, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland for persons from the European Economic Area and Switzerland and by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA for all other persons (“Google Ads”). Google Ads allows us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters specific search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Additionally, targeted ads can be displayed based on user data available at Google (e.g., location data and interests) (audience targeting). As website operators, we can quantitatively analyze this data by, for example, analyzing which search terms led to the display of our ads and how many ads resulted in corresponding clicks.

Furthermore, we also utilize the Google Ads Conversion Tracking feature. In relation to the data from advertising campaigns, we can determine how successful individual advertising measures are. The goal is to show you advertisements that are of interest to you, make our website more interesting for you, and achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. For instance, we can evaluate which buttons on our website are clicked most frequently, and which products are viewed or purchased most frequently. This information is used to create conversion statistics. We learn the total number of users who clicked on our ads and the actions they took.

We use the remarketing function within the Google Ads service. With the remarketing function, we can present users of our website with interest-based advertisements on other websites within the Google advertising network (in the Google search or on YouTube, so-called 'Google Ads' or on other websites). The interaction of users on our website is analyzed for this purpose, allowing us to display targeted advertising to users on other sites even after they have visited our website. Google stores cookies on users' devices for this purpose, which visit certain Google services or websites in the Google Display Network. These cookies record the visits of these users. The cookies serve to uniquely identify a web browser on a specific device and not to identify a person.

We use the Google Ads 'Conversion Linker' on our website. The Google Conversion Linker automatically captures information about ad clicks in the URLs of the conversion page and stores them in cookies within your domain for websites. Subsequently, the data is forwarded in URLs for AMP pages. We use Google Conversion Linker in conjunction with other Google Marketing Platform products, allowing unique IDs to be stored in these cookies.
